As a young girl I learned about Alzheimer's through my grandfather's struggle. As an adult I lost the sweetest mother-in-law in the world to the disease. Our Caregivers fight to help enhance the lives of seniors and their families dealing with the disease. I knew that the end of Alheimer's will not happen unless we collaboratively worked those efforts. In the past decade working with the Alzheimer's Association in different capacities, I have seen amazing changes in the end to Alzheimer's. We are not there, but we are closer than we have ever been. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
