On August 31, 2011, we lost one of the greatest men to grace this Earth, Henry "Snipe" Mosley. I can remember sitting with my gradndfather as a child eating Lemon ice cream and watching game shows to assisting him getting ready for the day as a teenager when he had to come live with us due to his debilitating condition. My grandfather lived to be 103 years old. Even at the age of 90, my grandfather was still able to do a lot of things most of us couldn't do at 30. Alzheimer's took away his ability to do alot of things, but it didn't take away his character and unique personality. Having to watch my grandfather go from being so dependent to literally talking and behaving as an infant would before his death, hurt me. Now, I am walking to help bring awareness and attention to Alzheimer’s to prevent others from experiencing the things my family did. No one should have to see their loved ones go through such a crippling disease.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you!
