On October 2 I will be participating in a Walk to End Alzheimer's. I'm doing this in honor of my mother, Frances Knuth, who died of Alzheimer's earlier this year. In the end she couldn't recognize her family, didn't know where she was or what was happening. She just kept asking when my father, who had been gone for 10 years, would be coming, and when she could go home with him.
Cathie's father also died of the disease.
Alzheimer's is a devastating disease for the patient and for their loved ones. Work to cure this disease is hard and has taken a long time already, but today scientists are developing a better understanding of the complexities, so there is hope. But it will take time and money.
Of course the walk I'm doing by itself accomplishes nothing, it's the funds raised as a result that are important.
This is important enough to us that we will match all contributions you make to my site.
Thank you for your support.
