I am leading Memory Joggers in memory of my Mom, Alice Greenwood, who passed away from complications of Alzheimer's on July 9, 2008. It was a long and tough battle which she eventually lost. Not a day goes by that I don't miss our breakfast talks or seeing her reach out to touch me when she could no longer talk or walk.
My nephew-in-law and niece-in-law lost their Mom, Delores Bauman, to Alzheimer's, and yet another nephew-in-law and niece-in-law are watching the disease slowly take their Mom from them. This year I have lost Betty Hinds and Rose Verrilli, both very beautiful women inside and out, to complications of dementia. I will also mention a dear and devoted man, Marty Schreiber, who said goodbye to his beloved wife and partner this year. Who do you know who was, or is now affected by Alzheimer's?
Progress is made each and every day, yet the treatment and cure have not been found. We can and will win, but not without your help.
Join Memory Joggers in the fight. If you can't join, please make a donation. We're making a difference each and every day. Let's win!
