Last year I lost my cousin, Elsie Marie Hatt-Baker to Alzheimer's. In October of last year my ex-husband, Gene Krivenko passed from Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. In the past I've also lost other family members and friends to thus disease including my mother, Doris Hatt.
Mother lost her battle with Alzheimer's on 2/02/2000. She was a very special lady. In my opinion, Mom made a wonderful home for my brother, Richard, our dad Bernie, and me. She was a true mother of the 1950's. I miss her and think of her often.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Help us to finally see our first Alzheimer's surviver.
