One of my life's deepest joys and sorrows was knowing Roy Dillon, who died several years after I first met him from Alzheimer's complications. He was the gentlest soul I'd ever met, and the world became a little less bright after we lost him. I miss the poker nights, the country music songs, and the stories (some of which may have even been true...) Diseases like Alzheimer's are difficult for us to deal with - there are so many things outside of our control. But funding for research and support for those going through this is not beyond our control. Collectively, we can move the needle by pooling together all of our donations into larger amounts that will result in new treatments and maybe eventually an outright cure. For me, I'm in a position financially to make this commitment, and so I'm doing my part. I'm fortunate to work as a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones, where as a company, we support the cause as well.
