My mom, Bobbie Mills was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 4 years ago; she's now in memory care. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd be walking in the shoes of a caregiver. Early on, thanks to the Alzheimer's Association, I got involved in a local caregiver's support group in an effort to help educate myself on this horrid disease and to learn how to be a successful caregiver and advocate for mom. What a ride it's been! Just when I think I've seen it all, reality has a way of slapping me in the face. The highs and lows, the rinse and repeat forgetfulness, the anger and agitation, the confusion, redirection, lack of retention, the mental and physical changes have all proven to be a lonely, exhausting and emotional rollercoaster. With your support, MomTeamBobbie can make a difference.
I honor my mom in the 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer's - Katy, TX on September 24, 2022. Anyone is welcome to join my team, MomTeamBobbie or if you'd simply like to walk with us in solidarity, that's okay too.
