At the Ashtabula County Medical Center we have Three Governing Laws of Behavior: Honesty, Compassion, and Respect. Guided by these three principles many Ashtabula County Medical Center caregivers' team up with other non-profit organizations that help advance healthcare throughout the year. The Alzheimer’s Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction, early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

Since 1980 the Alzheimer’s Association has raised more than $458 million. Why is this important? Because in 2023 alone, Alzheimer's and other dementias will cost the nation $345 billion and by 2050, nearly $1 trillion. What are the funds used for? While BBB Wise Giving Alliance says a nonprofit organization should spend at least 65% of total expenses on program activities and the rest should go towards fundraising and administrative expenses. The Alzheimer's Association spends 79% on its funds on Alzheimer’s care, support, research, awareness, and advocacy. 17% goes towards fundraising and the other 4% goes towards administrative How many people are affected by Alzheimer’s? 1 in 5 women and 1 in 10 men are at risk for Alzheimer’s by age 45. 6.7 million individuals 65 years old and above have Alzheimer’s. 1 in 3 seniors die with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. More than 11 million Americans provide unpaid care for individuals with Alzheimer’s or other dementias.

My goal is to see a world without Alzheimer's because the first person to survive it is out there, we just haven't met them yet.
