My name is Amber Overcast, and I am walking to end Alzheimer's in honor of my Nana, Macie Russell. Nana battled the disease for over a decade and passed away in September of 2021. I am lucky to have had the best thirty years with her as her only grandchild.
I am thrilled to be a volunteer and chair this year's Rutherford County Walk to End Alzheimer's. Watching a family member battle the disease and understanding what it takes to advocate and find critical care brings this cause dear to my heart. I want those who are battling the disease as well as their families, friends, and caregivers to know where to turn to as soon as a diagnosis is made. One day I hope to meet the first person to be cured of this disease.
