I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Let me introduce myself and tell you my story. I have a beautiful life. My support system is strong and I am blessed beyond measure. Please don't feel pity for me. I wouldn't change a thing about my life other than being diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's. Everyday is an adventure and I live everyday to its fullest. I miss working at a job that I loved in the automobile finance business. I miss driving but when I started getting lost in my own town the doctor thought it best I stop driving. I miss being able to cook a meal for my husband and not be worried about burning down the house because I forget that I am cooking. Yes, those are things that I took for granted. Alzheimer's stripped me of my independence. But, I refuse to let it control my life. I will continue to fight for as long as I possibly can.
I don't usually ask for help but, today I am pleading with you to do what you can to help our cause. If you can join my team and walk with us that would be wonderful. If you can join my team just to fundraise but not walk that would be wonderful. If you can donate to my fundraiser that would be wonderful. If you cannot donate but can share my page I appreciate it so much. If you can't share my page but can send prayers, good thoughts, and vibes I will certainly take each and all and pray for you too. I appreciate anything and all that you can do. Live each day to the fullest, appreciate everything that God has blessed you with, be kind to everyone, and have no regrets.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
