Each year at the Walk to End Alzheimer's, participants carry flowers of different colors denoting their association to Alzheimer's (ALZ): Purple for people who have lost someone to ALZ; Yellow for people caring for someone with ALZ; Blue for people who have ALZ; and Orange for people who support the mission of a world without ALZ. The White flower was introduced five years ago and is reserved for survivors of ALZ. Granddaughter, Allison created this poster in honor of the White flower.
My husband, Jim Cappio (aka Big Guy, Jimbo, Worm, etc), lost the battle with Alzheimer's on March 7, 2018, but his passing has not thwarted our mission of raising funds to support caregiving, research, and advocacy in the fight against Alzheimer's. To the contrary, the ALZ Crusaders Team is energized to bring this disease to its knees!
Last year ALZ Crusader's Team raised the most funds in our region thanks to the generosity of many friends and family members. We hope to do the same this year with your help. The 2022 ALZ Crusader's Team will be walking on October 1, 2022, commencing from Fluor Field at the West End in Greenville, SC at 9:00 am. Please join us by clicking on the Join Our Team link below. Other Walk to End Alzheimer's events across the country can be found here.
If you are unavailable to participate in the Walk, I hope you will consider making a donation to advance the research, care and treatment for Alzheimer's and other dementias. You may do so by clicking on the DONATE link. If you prefer, you may send a check to me at 104 Hummingbird Ridge, Greenville, SC 29605.
I sincerely appreciate your consideration of supporting The Walk to End Alzheimer's. .
