I am walking in honor of my beautiful, talented brave mother who sadly lost her battle with Alzheimers in January 2019. It was a heartbreaking loss.
This was not her story - sadly it is just the end of the story.
She survived a childhood ravaged by war in Germany during WWII. She survived breast cancer soon after retirement. She was a fighter. Ask anyone who knew her. She never gave up. I can only hope that I can be half as strong as she was.
I hope that I can honor her memory in helping the fight against this terrible disease. It affects us all.
My prayer is that someday there will be a cure or treatment for Alzheimers. Please help me fund the way to a cure.\
Please help me honor her and the millions of others by joining my fight.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
