My Gramma was diagnosed with dementia in 2020. She has been a literary influence in my life. I attribute my love for reading to her. She often took me to the library when I visited her, and she gave me my first Roald Dahl books. Which I am presently reading to my son. I live across the country from her, and it hurts my heart I am not there to support her. I began working with the Arbor at Bend team in December of 2020 and have been working hand in hand with families and individuals that are fighting Alzheimer's and dementia. Our residents and my Gramma have inspired me to raise awareness and help fund the critical research necessary to find a cure.
