Please support our team for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. This team is for those Montanans who I know are in the same boat. They either have a loved one who is struggling with or has passed due to complications of Alzheimer's.
My story is about my mother, Janet Trask Cox, who recently passed away at 80 years old due to complications with her 16-year struggle with Alzheimer's. She is not only a fantastic Mother but a wonderful person. She was an editor at McCalls Magazine in New York City in the 60s, started a Fortune 500 Advertising company in Montana, taught writing in Florence, Italy, and was a published author. She also forced my sister and me into Summer School at the lake for spelling lessons and Phoenics before Hooked On Phonics was a thing.
I have walked and supported the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's for several years. During this time, I have grown to understand more about this disease and how it affects not just the person but their entire family and circle of friends. I have also become aware of many of my friend's parents and loved ones who also struggle with Alzheimer's.
The money raised here will help in many different ways. First, research to help not just those currently struggling with it. But for those who will get it. It will help educate and support the caregivers themselves. Finally, it will also help those who struggle with Alzheimer's, and they're the need.
So a donation will help. If you want to join Team Montana and walk with me on October 15th, we can enjoy each other's company.
