Hello Everyone!!! First I want to say thank you for taking the time to view my Alzheimer's Walk page. For those that know me, you know that I have a passion for those living with Alzheimer's for several reasons. First and foremost, it has directly affected my family. My Grandpa Don passed away from this horrible disease in June of 2016 and my Grandma Cook is currently living with Alzheimer's in a community in Southern Illinois. They are my inspiration and who I honor by doing this walk and helping to raise money to fight this disease. Not only has Alzheimer's touched my actual family, but I also have a whole other family that I work with everyday. I'm the Executive Director of Brookdale OKC Southwest, a Dementia/Alzheimer's community. Everyday, I see the extent at which this disease breaks down the person living with it and the decline that occurs with each stage until the end finally comes. Although we do our best everyday to ensure our residents are being successful and continuing to enjoy life, the disease is still there and we need a cure it so the number of people suffering will decrease instead of increase. So please help me in raising money for an awesome and great cause. Alzheimer's disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the US and currently over 5 million people are living with the disease. We need to do everything we can to stop this horrilbe disease and give people hope that we can find a cure.
