It's a new year which means it's time for me and Coach to relaunch our Walk to End Alzheimer's Tulsa team to honor our loved ones and all who are touched by Alzheimer's, and we'd love for you to join us!
We walk in memory of three wonderful women: my Grandma Syble, Coach's Granny, and Coach's mom, Sandra Jean Montgomery.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's, and that number is expected to grow to as many as 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
My future is at risk as 11% of American's over 65 years old have Alzheimer's Disease or dementia, and 2/3 of those are women.
My daughter's future is at a critically high risk with so many Alzheimer's diagnoses on both sides of her family. I do not want to see her beautiful life shredded by this cruel and fatal disease. I do not want to see my son have to make the tough choices I watch Coach have to make for his mom. I do not want my husband, my greatest gift from above and the absolute love of my life, to have to care for me because I an unable to do so for myself. I do not want to witness another person's life destroyed by Alzheimer's Disease.
We need your support to find the first Alzheimer's survivor and to stop what we believe is truly an epidemic. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support, and resources in communities nationwide.
Please join our 2022 Tulsa Walk team: TEAM SANDRA JEAN!
Then, "get or give" $100 through a personal donation or fundraising just $10, ten times to earn your 2021 Walk t-shirt and wear it proudly as we WALK 2 #ENDALZ on Saturday, September 17th.
The end of Alzheimer's begins today, and it starts with us.
With love and hugs,
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
