I began Jackie's Run more than a decade ago in honor of my mother, Jackie, who was living with Alzheimer's. Sadly, she passed away in 2015, which made me want to work harder to raise funds and awareness. After running more than 260 miles in several states, 2021 was set to be my tenth run, but I was sidelined by double knee surgery. That was tough, but Alzheimer's is tougher, so I'm back and ready to run!
The 2022 Jackie's Run is a bit different. I'm committed to running 1,000 miles between June 1 and November 30 - 183 days - an average 5.5 miles a day, 38.5 miles per week, 165 miles per month or 1,000 miles total - the distance between mom's home in Kentucky and her favorite vacation spot - Sarasota, Florida.
You can support me for 10 cents a mile for one day at $5.50
Consider sponsoring me for one week at $38.50.
Or a nickel a mile for $50.
A dime a mile is just $100.
Or a dollar a day for $183.
Whatever you can afford is appreciated.
At this time no one can outrun Alzheimer's so please help me run toward a cure, in honor of my mom, Jackie, and all those lost to this horrible disease.
Thank you,
Steve
