In 2021 my Nana, Dawn Hynes, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer's is an aggressive disease that affects an estimated 6.2 million Americans. That is more than 1 in 9 people over the age of 65. That is exactly why raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease is so incredibly important to me. My Pop, and Dawn's lifetime partner, Tom, passed away in December 2021 due to a stroke. He spent his entire life advocating for those in need and supporting the community in whatever way possible. This was no different when it came to my Nana. There is not a doubt in my mind that if he were still here today he would be fighting this fight with us. Please join me as I walk both in honor of my Pop, and in support of my Nana. Alzheimer’s isn't stopping and neither are we
