I am participating once more this year in the Orange/Sullivan Walk to End Alzheimer's. The walk will be held on Saturday, October 18th. This year we are walking everywhere.
As most of you know, I have been an active volunteer and advocate for the Alzheimer's Association for over 25 years. Although my family and I have not been personally affected by this devastating disease, I have met so many people whose lives have been dramatically and permanently changed and I feel the need to do whatever I can to show these people that they are not going through this alone and that they have my support as well as the support of many other individuals. This is a lonely, frustrating disease and the caregivers and family members need to be shown that we are here and we care for them.
This year - in celebration of my birthday - I am asking you to support me in my Walk. The monies raised will go toward research, awareness and services to the Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers and family members and ultimately - a world without Alzheimer's.
