This semester I will be participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's in collaboration with Longview of Ithaca. I am raising funds to support those currently impacted by Alzheimer's and other associated brain changes along with supporting critical research. Having seen the impact Alzheimer's can have on one within my family and as an aspiring health care worker with a possible geriatric focus I am looking to support this cause to hopefully one day eliminate Alzheimer's. Throughout the semester we have spent time understanding and educating ourselves and others on brain functioning and associated conditions. As a future occupational therapist staying up to date with current research is vital in ensuring that I can provide client centered holistic care to patients with Alzheimer's and other associated brain conditions. If you can, please support this cause and help myself/my class as we join forces with the Ithaca area in a Walk to End Alzheimer's!
