I walk in support of my dad, Noel Glastein, who suffers from frontotemporal dementia, and currently resides in a nursing home facility. Everyone loves my dad, his wonderful sense of humor, and his love of family and friends. He loves music (The Rolling Stones are his favorite!), dancing, was a sports fanatic (knew tons of baseball stats) and anyone who knows him knows how amazing he was at directions and remembering how to get somewhere, even if he had only been there once. As it does with so many, this terrible disease truly took a toll on him. I also walk in memory of my grandma, Roz Glastein, who lost her fight with Alzheimer's in 2006.
I join my sister, Michelle and her team of three other families who have all been affected by this terrible disease. Last year, their team was the #1 fundraising team for the Essex-Hudson-Union county walk (that's New Jersey for all of you NYers who don't acknowledge my home state ) raising over $10,000 and Michelle was actually the top fundraising individual for the entire walk.
Here is where I need you... In true sisterly, competitive fashion, help me beat what Michelle has raised and let's end this horrible disease!!!
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
