I'm leading the way on the Walk to End Alzheimer's, to help raise money for the cause of Alzheimer's research.  I also wish to honor my Mother, Jessie Didrikson Nelson Belgum who lived with dementia for 16 years.  The U of M hospital diagnosed her at age 65 with "Dementia of the Alzhemer's type."  We definitely noticed Mom loosing her abilities as those 16 years progressed.  Our team is called Nelson Kids.  We are honoring Mama Jessie for her 16 year struggle.  I am youngest of our 5 family children and it is a pleasure to say that all my siblings currently are fighting off Alzheimer's very well.
