The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a cause very dear to my heart! I am very passionate about it and I really would love to help do my part to help fund research to end this HORRIBLE disease. 

For those who do not know, my family received this diagnosis a few years back with someone very important to us, my mother. As of now, there is no remission, there is no cure, there's no slowing it down, and unfortunately there are no survivors. Early Onset Alzheimer’s has destroyed so many lives throughout the years. Average life expectancy is 8-10 years (although number of years vary) but unfortunately most do not get diagnosed until a few years after the initial start of the disease taking course which leaves the life expectancy so much shorter. Imagine getting that news about a family member or even a friend? Wouldn’t you want a cure to end this horrible devastating disease? I know I do.  I look at my loved one everyday and see the negative changes taking effect.  I see the lost ability to do everyday tasks that we take for granted like getting ready to leave the house, cleaning, or even simply opening a door.  I see the confusion of what's what and where are things that have been in the same spot for 18 years... I watch the decrease in appetite & the forgetfulness of what they were doing... I help as much as I can but still end up feeling helpless, like what I'm doing isn't good enough, but I continue to help and hope that one day there is a cure... I know that in the time frame of my loved one it might not happen but I wish and pray for future families that this disease affects that one day we won't have to walk to raise money to find a cure because there already be one!
