The 2020 Walk was the first one for me - and I was so extremely humbled by the unbelievable support from so many family, friends, and colleagues.  We far exceeded the modest goals I set that first year.  Last year (2021) we exceeded $7,000.  I'm hoping we can do even more this year - all towards finding a cure and celebrating Alzheimer's first survivor!

I'm doing this in memory of my Mom, Nancy, or Nan, as her grandkids and great-grandson called her. She was diagnosed after a senior assessment with Alzheimer's in October 2017, however she was showing signs of this disease for at least a year or more prior to the official diagnosis. Mom passed in February 2018, at the age of 85. What a horrible disease this is. 

For that reason, this fight is personal for me and my family.  Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 15 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. I recently learned of someone who was diagnosed in his 30s - wow.  Many of you are in my age bracket - approaching Medicare age - and that's when signs typically start to slowly show up.  We were shocked to learn that a long-time friend of ours was recently diagnosed -- and that brings this home to us once again.
