My grandparents, who were my world, were diagnosed with this terrible disease and it changed my world forever. After months of my family sharing the responsibilities of care taking, they were put in a retirement community where I ended up working at their community to see them daily and to make sure I got every good moment I could get. Fast forward to 8 years later: they are now my guardian angels and I miss them every hour of every day. I still work at the place that they once lived and I'm walking along with my coworkers to raise money and awareness in hopes of one day ridden this earth of this disease that turns people into shells of themselves.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
