We all know this is a horrible disease! To experience this with a loved one is almost indescribable. The slow and continual decline in cognitive and physical function for the person afflicted, and the trauma of witnessing this and ever growing loss it brings for loved ones feels like emotional torture. We can only hope a cure, or at the very least, more effective treatments will be discovered through fund raising efforts like this one. The growing statistics are scary.
