In 2015 our mom, grandma, great grandma, sister and aunt, Margaret Zoll Amos, died from complications of dementia/Alzheimer's. Our family, along with our friends, continue to walk each year to support the cause to end Alzheimer's and to raise money to find a cure. Each year we learn of someone else who has Alzheimer’s / dementia or caring for someone who does have it or has died having lived with this disease.
What I didn’t know during the years mom lived with dementia, is that she was teaching me to be a better person. A better person to those I love, family, friends and the people I encounter every day. She also taught me lessons that include: patience, kindness, being present, and to love one another. What a gift - thank you mom.
No one would want to live with this disease, however, we don't have a choice whether we get it or not. We will do our part to raise funds in hopes that one day there will be a cure.
If you have a loved one with Alzheimer's / dementia remember, all they want is your love. New memories are being made, so cherish your loved one while you can.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
May all your memories be Cherished Memories.
