This page is dedicated to my mother, Mary Ann, who has been living with Alzheimer’s for about 6 years. While my Mom is still the happy and loving person I remember, this disease has definitely taken a very large toll on her ability to live the life that she wants.
I have chosen to get involved with the Alzheimer’s Association and currently am fundraising for 2021 Indianapolis Walk to End Alzheimer’s. I have done this to try to play a small part in finding a cure for the most significant non-curable disease we are faced with in this country.
Currently, 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. By 2050, this number is projected to rise to nearly 14 million. Between 2000 and 2017, deaths from heart disease have decreased 9 percent while deaths from Alzheimer’s have increased 145 percent.
Your donation and support means the world to me. Funds raised for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s go towards Alzheimer’s CARE, SUPPORT and RESEARCH.
I am confident that the first SURVIVOR of Alzheimer’s is out there — but we need a lot of help to get there.
