In the end, he may not have known my name, but he always called me his "beautiful daughter". I consider myself one of the lucky ones that he always remembered my face.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
This year, I've decided to skip the walk. Instead, I'll be running (let's get real, I'll be wogging walk/jogging) in a local 10k in memory of my dad while raising funds towards this cause. Most of y'all know, I'm NOT a runner and this is way out of my comfort zone, but daddy would appreciate me setting a goal and working towards it.
