My name is Amy Hood, and this is my 3rd year as the Event Chair for the Walk to End Alzheimer's – Greater Springfield. 

 I joined the Walk Committee after my mom, Joyce Erickson, passed away from Alzheimer's in 2019, days after my 38th birthday.  Our family walks every year in her memory, as team ERICKSON.  Please join our team or support our fundraising!     

*1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.

*Alzheimer’s kills MORE than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.

*There is NO CURE for Alzheimer's! No mask that keeps you safe from "catching" it.

*It is the most expensive disease with no cure.

The Alzheimer’s Association raises money to provide a 24/7 hotline for patients and caregivers, do research, advocate for larger budgets from Congress, and are pushing bills that would require healthcare workers to have at least 1 training class in handling Alzheimer’s patients.  

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is October 1st at Southwind Park in Springfield, IL
