My best friend forever. My sister in Christ. My queen. My mother, Mamie L. Bowers was diagnosed with Dementia in 2011. My life did not change, but my journey did. I begin to understand what it was like for someone you love to go through changes in their life. She lived a life of joy, peace, and happiness and as her caregiver, it was now my job to make sure she could maintain that energy.
My mother was a humble woman of God. God blessed her with a beautiful independent Christian life. I can go on and on about the goodness of God and how much my mother loved serving him. Out of seven children, God picked me to enjoy and soak in a wonderful journey with my mom. I have heard so many stories about Alzheimer's and how others had to manage their lives and work through this disease. Now, I have my own story to tell. (Book coming soon!) I know that being a part of finding a cure will be rewarding for so many lives!
