Mrs. Ann Lea Torres, 83, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation on Monday, February 21st, 2022. 

Mrs. Torres was a proud graduate of Mount de Sales Academy in Macon, Georgia where she excelled in tennis. She continued to enjoy various athletic activities during her life, including golf and riding spirited palomino horses. She was also an excellent bowler, winning several tournaments around the country. Mrs. Torres had an exceptional gift for floral design as she worked with several florists over the years during her travels with her husband, Marco Torres Jr, during his long career of service with the United States Army.

Mrs. Torres was always an outgoing, social person who enjoyed other people's company and easily made friends wherever she went due to her kind, compassionate nature. There were few things she enjoyed more than relaxing with a glass of wine and great conversation with good friends or family members. She also loved indulging in card games and bingo, and she was always up for a trip to Biloxi. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who would do anything for her family. They were her world, and they never had to doubt just how much she adored them. She was the backbone of her family for most of her life and they are blessed to have so many special memories made together.

Mrs. Torres was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Granville & Eugenia Sievers Hurst, and siblings, Charles Hurst & Catherine Spillane. She is survived by her adoring husband of 65 years, Marco Torres Jr; their children, Marco Torres III, Theresa (Frank) Fuller, Michael (Kandi) Torres, Suzanne (John) Carlton, John (Irene) Torres, and Stephen (Kim Giles) Torres; grandchildren, Jonathan Torres, Daniel Torres, Christopher Hilburn, Jeffrey Hilburn, Matthew Hilburn, Justin Torres, Katie Dubon, Madison Carlton, Matthew Carlton, Brandi Perryman, Tyler Torres, Cliff Torres, Amanda Genau, Katie Fuller, Emily Fuller, Coleman Reed, and Conner Reed; and nine great-grandchildren.
