The Alzheiner's Association not only helps families affected by this disease but families affected by dementia. Both disease processes cause emotional as well as financial strain. My mother, Eleanor (Ellie) Ellington developed dementia in her early 70s. It was a painful process to watch as she lost her memories of things near and dear to her. She eventually could not remember that I was her daughter...her only child. She was my best friend. I will never forget the heartache. And I will never forget the impact it had on my family (father, husband, and children...her grandchildren).
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Remember, every dollar counts. Those $5 and $10 donations add up. Consider making a small donation in my mom's behalf.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
