This will be the 7th year, I am participating in the walk. The 1st time I participated in the walk was with Yazmina. We walked as individuals in support of my Mom, Virginia, and she walked in support of her Dad, Luis. The walk was new to the both of us. For the 2nd year, we decided that we would spread the word and make our family and friends aware of the walk to support us. On the 3rd and 4th year, more of our family and friends came together to support either by walking or donating for the cause. Our team continued to grow. Now with both of our parents passing it gives us even more reason to come together in supporting each other in this horrible disease. Last year with the covid pandemic it changed the Alzheimer’s walk, but for this year we will come together safely practicing social distancing and still raise enough money so that one day we can have that white flower in our promise garden. We can support by either walking, making a donation and/ or help raise awareness for Alzheimer’s. I know together we can do this!
I'm walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care and support.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
