My mom, Julie, was diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer's she was just 52. Shortly after she was diagnosed, my paternal grandfather was also diagnosed with Alzheimer's. My grandfather lost his fight to the disease in November 2017 and my mom lost hers in May of 2018, at only 58 years old.
Even after her's and my grandfather's diagnoses, my mom continued to remain positive, happy, and hopeful for the future. I, too, am hopeful that the 16 million Americans who are currently going to get Alzheimer's by 2050 will have a cure. That families won't struggle to care for their loved ones. That one day we will be able to say we've eradicated this fatal disease.
Please join my family by making a donation or joining our team to do our part to advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's.
