My dad was my person - my safe place to turn when life threw curve balls - a man of few words, he was always there with a hug for support, a silly joke, and a whistled tune. I am blessed with so many cherished memories, and he was the very best Papa to my daughters that I could ever ask for. Saying goodbye to him was the hardest thing I have ever done and not a day goes by that I don't think of him. His journey with Alzheimer's was a long battle and what he went through in those final days and hours is not something I would ever wish for anyone. I am so thankful our family was with him during his final hours - precious memories that will remain in my heart forever.
