In 2003, my beautiful Mother and friend, Phyllis, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, or as Mom referred to it, "Ugly A". Although, the Ugly A stole my Mom's memory, thankfully, it did not take her sense of humor, love of family, love of life and her big, beautiful heart! Her heart remembered who she loved and who loved her! On July 16, 2014, my Mom's battle ended. She is now living her eternal life in Heaven free from the Ugly A.
On Saturday, September 24, together with my family and friends, I will be walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, I am committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support so that no other person or family suffers from the Ugly A.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease, our future is at risk.
To do my part, I welcome and appreciate your support! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
