For almost 98 years, Violet Yip dedicated herself to making others happy- hosting get-togethers, enjoying the Chinese opera or playing mahjong. She befriended almost everyone she came across and treated many young women as she would her own daughters.
She cared for her husband who endured Alzheimer's until the end, traveling 60 minutes by bus to visit her husband every day at a care facility for many years until his death. In her final years, she too lived with Alzheimer's. Unfortunately, Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, we're raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — and to honor Violet and countless others who live with this disease.
