My daughter's Melanie & Annie were still in school when their beloved grandma Dorothy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and came to live with us, rapidly sliding into the middle stages of the disease, which can include paranoia, fearfulness, wandering and slowly unable to do things like shower on her own. I also worked fulltime and had to learn to navigate Medical, Medicare, VA, S/S and oversee her medical care ; a very stressful time for us. The Alzheimer's Association 24/7 Helpline and online support gave me information, resources and emotional support-they have walked the journey I was now on, they understood. Our mission is to educate, legislate, support and raise money for research to find effective treatments. Mel has embarked on a career in health care, specifically working with dementia patient's, explaining the early influence it had on her life and I am so very proud of her !

Please help us raise $2000 for the Walk2EndAlz because if you haven't been touched by this disease, you will be. 700,000 Californians are living with Alzheimer's and that is expected to double by 2040, affecting 1 in 5 women.
