My Grandma was one of my heroes growing up. She was always creating something amazing, and she was always giving to those in need. She taught me a lot of the skills I now use to be a hero for others. But she will never know that I carry on in her creative and charitable footsteps, because Alzheimer's is a thief.
I have a bouquet of flowers from past walks, this year I walk for another purple flower. I walk in her memory. And most importantly, I walk for the hope that other families will one day see a future without the suffering of stolen memories. I walk for the hope that one day Alzheimer's and related diseases will be a thing of the past.
