On July 9, 2015, my brother, Wayne Richard Mason, Jr., shared with me and our Mom that he had just been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s dementia. I will never forget the date because the news came in the midst of my 45th birthday party. Wayne stayed to celebrate with me even after receiving the worse news of his life; our lives. This act of selfless love is just one example of who my big brother was and how he always showed up for his family, his friends and his community. Sadly, on January 2, 2022, at the young age of 62, Wayne succumbed to illnesses brought on and exacerbated by Alzheimer's. Our family will never be the same however, we have decided to turn our grief into action and do what my brother would do. We are committed to supporting other individuals and their familes who are afflicted and affected by this vicious disease. We are doing things "Wayne's Way" and are participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's.
Support our team for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
