Welcome to our family team's page, TEAM RIEDEL!! We have banded together over the years in support of the Alzheimer's Association to end Alzheimer's disease.
In early years we walked in honor of John T. Riedel, who is my grandfather, and then in memory of him when we lost him nearly 14 years ago. He was diagnosed at the age of 58 years old. His "golden years" were anything but golden due to this disease. He passed at the age of 76 years old.
My grandmother, Terkuo, is pictured on our page. She is the shining light of our family, hence always front and center. Granny was diagnosed with dementia shortly after the passing of my grandfather. Being the incredible person she was, she raised 7 awesome kids and 18 even more awesome grandchildren. (Well, I can say that because I'm 1 of the 18!!) The entire family contributed in many ways to keep granny in her home until her death at age 87. Granny was a huge supporter of the Alzheimer's Association as well. She never missed a walk and sported the purple shirts with pride. (Purple was her favorite color too!)
To keep our tradition of supporting the Alzheimer's Association we formed Team Riedel. The team consists of family and friends who believe in finding a cure for this awful disease that takes loved ones' memories and independence away. We are always looking to add to our team, so please follow the links to be a part of the most spirited team there is!
