Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. Alzheimer’s disease has affected me and my family since I was a child. My grandma Geri (my mom’s mom) was diagnosed when I was young, and watching the progression of the disease and the increase in the level of care she needed was eye opening, difficult to understand and awful to watch. She passed in 2009 and I passively and ignorantly saw this as the last time I would have to deal with somebody I loved having to battle the disease. Unfortunately, my dad George was diagnosed with early onset in 2015. I now have the disease on both sides of my family. I am walking to honor my grandma and dad and everyone who has been affected by the pain of Alzheimer’s disease. One of my biggest dreams is to see a world with an Alzheimer’s disease survivor.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
