My family has been participating in the walk for years as Team Rhode Roster. This year I felt compelled to jump into a larger role so I joined the Milwaukee Walk Planning Committee!
This cause is something very personal to my heart. I have family members personally suffering from Alzheimer's and dementia, and I also have family members who are navigating being caregivers to those affected. As a physical therapist at Froedtert Hospital, I also work with patient's daily who are living with dementia.
In addition to supporting my family's team, this year I will also be leading my own team as I challenge my coworkers at Froedtert Hospital to join me in helping put a stop to this disease!
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Please consider donating to my team or creating one of your own!
