The Sigma Kappa Foundation is committed to “Making Alzheimer’s a Distant Memory” by creating a major funding stream to the national Alzheimer’s Association for research to find a cure. Through years of fundraising and support from the Sigma Kappa Foundation, our community has become one of the nation’s leading contributors to Alzheimer’s disease prevention, research and treatment efforts. Since 1989, the Sigma Kappa Foundation has granted more than $2 million in research and psychosocial grants to investigators and practitioners who are on the front lines in the fight against this debilitating disease.
Every year, Sigma Kappa members are encouraged to participate in the Alzheimer’s Association annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s® to further our efforts to help those affected by the Alzheimer’s disease. The Mu Chapter is an active participant in this event, the members from our chapter look forward to the walk each year because they love that they have this opportunity to come out to show their support. This year we would like to increase that strengthened support for the Alzheimer’s Association by setting a goal of raising up to $15,000 through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s®! Help us reach our goal by donating or joining us this upcoming fall to participate in the walk.
