My maternal grandfather, John Randolph Mitchell, had Alzheimer's for 14 years. The onset of the disease was slow, like not putting on matching socks, losing personal items, his garden rows became crooked, to hallucinations, building a fire in the middle of the living room floor vs the fireplace, and more. My grandmother, Catherine "Nanu", was overwhelmed and family tried to help as much as possible. She eventually ran into a woman, a Mormon, who became a live-in caregiver helper in my grandfather's home in exchange for food and rent. That was an incredible blessing and saved her sanity as a caregiver.
By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Please make a donation and register as a participant on the Find Homes Realty team and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for helping advance Alzheimer's support, care and research.
