I walk for my family. My oldest sister has been diagnosed with dementia. My father had dementia and passed May 18, 2016. My mother had Alzheimer's and passed away April 26, 2018. She never knew that the only man she ever loved was no longer with us.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
