Last October, we had to put my mom, Evy, into a memory care facility. It was a very difficult decision to make for my father. The transition went fairly well until COVID-19 hit. We have not been able to hug her neck since April, and there is no end in sight. This cruel disease coupled with isolation has been devastating for her morale and well-being. Most days, she still knows us, but there have been a few days that she didn't recognize my sisters or dad. Please pray for my family, and that we can find the cure to COVID-19 and Alzheimer's.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
