By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease. The money raised allows the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation, register as a participant and start your own fundraising, or join me on November 13th (in Fredericksburg, Tx) to Walk to End Alzheimer's!
My inspiration for participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's, comes from my family. I lived with my grandparents for 9 months and became one of the primary caregivers for my Grandma, Beverly, who is now in stage 4 of Alzheimer's disease. During that time I had the privilege of taking care of my Grandma the way she took care of me when I was younger. Through the MANY up's and down's, I wouldn't trade my time spent or the memories made for anything and would do it again in a heart-beat. With the help from our wonderful Visting Angels employees, my grandpa (Johnny), and other family members we are able to continue to make life-long memories with a very special lady, who we all love dearly, Beverly.
Thank you for your love and support for not only my Grandma, but also the many others who have been effected by this terrible disease. My prayers go out to loved ones are battling this disease and their families who are supporting and caring for them. Be patient, be kind and take things day by day. Always look for the silver lining and remember that their love for you will never leave.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither am we! Fighting this disease is not easy but together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease. #MemoriesMatter
