Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.

Many are not aware of the seriousness behind Alzheimer's disease, and neither did I, until my great grandfather was diagnosed with the disease. Each day I would watch him forget important memories that a human should be able to cherish a lifetime. He forgot how to do everyday tasks, such as driving or taking care of himself. However, the disease progressed until he forgot who his family members were. On December 27, 2007, Grandaddy went home to be with the Lord. Our family holds on to many memories of him... But will these memories stay with us?
